Beaumaris Community Centre Tennis Club once again have drunk from the sweet cup of success when they won their Saturday Mixed Rubbers Grand Final for a second time in 6 months, beating Parkdale Tennis Club (once again) 3 sets to 1.
In what was a fantastic, yet tough day at Dendy Park, the team came together and produced a super awesome performance to take out the final in a truly convincing manner.
The tennis was really exciting and entertaining, and at one stage, a large crowd had gathered to watch our team play. Rani Walsh and Angela Hawkins were on fire in the Ladies Rubber, winning with an impressive 6-1, 6-0 performance – well done girls!!! Paul Russo and Spiro Papalas fought it out in a tough 3 setter in the Mens Rubber eventually going down in 3 sets (3-6, 7-6, 4-6). Following this was the 2 mixed rubbers, where Beaumaris CC won and handed us the title.
Special thanks go out to Parkdale for putting on a gallant effort and providing such a tough, exciting final once again.
Well done Beaumaris CC once again for going Back-To-Back, can they do a Hawthorn and do a ‘3-peat’ next season.
