Great skill and competitive spirit has been shown by all teams and the results are great reward for effort.

A big thank you to all who competed in the 2016 club championships. We had some amazing matches and very worthy champions crowned. We were blessed with some great weather that made for great viewing. A big thank you to all those involved in making the event happen, with special thanks to Alison Leydin for helping us schedule matches and keep things moving. Thanks also to Ben Brown, Fiona Love, Monique Hecker and Spiro Papalas for the behind the scenes efforts that allowed everything to run smoothly.

Congratulations to all who were crowned champions in their selected events. The finals were a viewing spectacular, with many going to tie breakers in the third set. For those who didn’t quite manage to scale the mountain, there is always next year so start practicing now.

The committee has high hopes for 2017.  We will keep everyone up to date of any breaking news as soon as it happens…….and we hope to be doing that often. We have established some good relationships with the new local councillors and hope that this will bear fruit for the tennis club. They have been very interested to hear of our aspirations and seem to be very supportive of us. Bayside council has also been undertaking a review of tennis within the municipality and we hope that this will allow us to help progress the club as well.

I look forward to seeing you at the club in 2017.
